So on week 9 of my Ketovore experience I am off to have my blood tested again. What is significant about this test is I finally have data to compare from three months ago. So in regards to my cholesterol, I am NOT, repeat NOT, concerned about my LDL being high. I know why it is high. I’m on a Ketovore Diet (see video below). What I DO want to see is an increase in HDL (up 3 points) and lowering triglycerides (down 35 points). So I am super excited about these results. I plan to test again in three months and my goal is to continue to see lowering triglycerides and raising HDL levels.
The link between triglycerides and LDL cholesterol is related to how the body processes fats. It is my understanding that high triglyceride levels can be associated with “bad” cholesterol levels, which over time can develop into cardiovascular disease.
Proponents of the carnivore diet, like me, take the position that by eliminating carbohydrates and plant-based foods, the diet may help lower triglycerides and over time positively improve metabolic health. As of 08/01/2023, I have completely and totally stopped taking the statin. I am certainly interested to see how it goes moving forward.
HDL Up
41 to 44
Triglycerides Down
155 to 120
